Abstract:
This is a commented translation accompanied by the original Greek of The Elements of Theology (Stoicheiosis Theologike) by Proclus (412–485 c.e.), a central work in Western metaphysics. This pioneering translation of Proclus into Portuguese makes his thought accessible to a broad audience interested in metaphysical questions, and not only to specialists in ancient philosophy. The commentary analyzes Proclus’s arguments, highlighting his original polytheistic metaphysics, and underscores the incomplete nature of the Elements, pointing out gaps and structural flaws, while also suggesting possible solutions.
