The workshop "Transversal Dialogues About the Cultural Representation of Migration Across Temporalities and Geographies" invited an international group of interdisciplinary scholars to the Zukunftskolleg at the University of Konstanz. Discussions sought to understand how discourses of representation come into being across temporalities and geographies. To understand what a transversal application of conceptual tools means, what it does, and what it cannot do, this workshop brought together scholars already working on questions about and related to human mobility. The workshop stimulated dialogues between different disciplines in the humanities and social sciences about the production of knowledge on cultures of human mobility from perspectives critical of racialization, infantilization, and misrepresentation.
The event was sponsored by the Martin Buber Society of Fellows and the Zukunftskolleg at the University of Konstanz.
