After our initial meeting in Konstanz last December, the second part of the joint Zuko and MBSF workshop on The Meaning of Being Human took place in Jerusalem this week.
We opened the first day with a fascinating keynote lecture by Prof. David Shulman, the first director of the MBSF. His talk, titled On Being a South Asian Human Being: An Inner Witness, Empathy, and Something More, set a profound tone for the discussions that followed.
Later that day, we held a panel moderated by our fellow Uri Eran, featuring Rakefet Ackerman from the Technion, Oded Naaman from the Hebrew University and an MBSF alumnus, and our fellow Nir Feinberg.
It was agreed that the long-standing collaboration between the Zukunftskolleg and the MBSF should continue, with both institutions committed to deepening their intellectual partnership.
