Dr. Abraham Rubin

Abraham Rubin presented an overview of his book manuscript called “Conversion in the Shadow of Catastrophe,” which is a study of German-Jewish converts to Christianity, who narrated their spiritual and confessional transformations against the backdrop of the Holocaust and its aftermath. The project tackles the fraught relationship between religion, politics and Holocaust memory from an autobiographical perspective, focusing on how Jewish émigrés interpreted their experiences of persecution and displacement through the hermeneutics of Christian conversion.
