This year, on our annual autumn excursion, we explored the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea region.
We set out in unusually warm November weather and began our day at the Good Samaritan Mosaic Museum. From there, we continued to the archaeological excavations conducted by the university at Horcania, where we heard a fascinating explanation from Dr. Oren Gutfeld and members of the team currently working on the site.
We continued to an overnight stay at Kibbutz Ein Gedi. In the evening, the guitars came out for a fast-paced song-recognition game.
The following day, we hiked through Nahal Arugot and continued on to the ancient Ein Gedi Synagogue, the baptism site at Qasr al-Yahud, and the Monastery of Deir Hajla.
