Together with the Department of Comparative Religion, the Martin Buber Society has invited Prof. Francis Clooney SJ (Harvard Divinity School) for a series of guest lectures at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prof. Clooney is one of the most prominent contemporary Catholic theologians and a highly esteemed pioneer in Christian-Hindu dialogue. In the last decades he has significantly advanced the field of comparative theology which aims at mutual learning across religious borders. At the Hebrew University, Clooney presented his recent work on the medieval Hindu theologian and philosopher Ramanuja in an interdisciplinary and international workshop dedicated to daily rituals in various religious traditions.
