Uri Hershberg is an Associate Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems and the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at the College of Medicine of Drexel University. His research interests are focused on how adaptive biological and cognitive systems emerge from the behavior of individual (cells). More specifically his group studies how populations of adaptive immune cells underly the phenomena of immunity. Throughout his career Uri has used multi and interdisciplinary research methods and collaborations to relate concepts and methods from Physics, Immunology, Cognitive Science and System Biology. He thus has a long standing interest in multidisciplinary and collaborative teaching and research. As a senior fellow he hopes to both add a new view to the diverse Humanities and Social science world of Buber Fellows and learn new ways to practice multidisciplinary research.
