Prof. Peter Brown, a word class historian from Princeton University who founded the study of late antiquity, came to the Buber-sponsored Group for the Study of Late Antiquity for a fascinating and inspiring conversation with Prof. Paula Fredriksen (HUJI, Religion). After a wide-ranging discussion that considered everything from the significance and character of late antiquity studies in the Middle East to the writing device preferred by Prof. Brown, participants were invited to enjoy a light lunch and continue the conversation. The event was also sponsored by the HUJI Program for the Study of Late Antiquity and its Heritage, and aided by the HUJI Center for the Study of Christianity.
